Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Hormone imbalance is very common and often present in patients of all ages. Hormones control many functions of your body including mood, weight, sexual function, energy level, mental sharpness, metabolism, body temperature, and many more.

What Are the Symptoms of Hormone Imbalance?

There are many symptoms that can occur with imbalance of certain sex hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone such as:

  • Women experiencing symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) such as headaches, breast tenderness, bloating, fatigue, mood swings, and cramping as well as women with irregular periods are often signs of hormone imbalance.
  • In post menopausal women, hormone levels drop and cause symptoms such as night sweats, insomnia, hot flashes, weight gain, mood swings, and sexual discomfort (vaginal dryness). These symptoms can be severe and could affect a person's quality of life.
  • Men may also experience a decrease in hormone levels as they age. Symptoms of low testosterone may include fatigue, weight gain, low libido, and erectile dysfunction.

Imbalances in hormones from poor adrenal and thyroid function are also very common and can manifest in symptoms such as brain fog, fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety, weight gain, inability to loose weight, cold intolerance and many others.

What We Offer

HealthFirst offers a HRT program to combat symptoms of hormone imbalance and improve your quality of life. We promise to offer the most comprehensive program and provide all of the necessary tools to improve your health. We offer services to both men and women.

At HealthFirst, we also offer saliva testing and blood work to test for hormone imbalances. Many other HRT programs only offer blood work, but saliva testing has been proven to be more accurate than blood for hormone levels. It provides us with better information to properly treat your needs and achieve better results. Saliva testing is used to evaluate estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol. Blood work is utilized only to evaluate thyroid functions.

At the initial consultation, you will discuss the symptoms you are experiencing with the provider. The program will be explained at length and if you wish to continue, we will collect saliva testing and blood work. The second visit will consist of discussion of results and initiation of proper therapy. Follow up appointments will be scheduled based on the type of therapy that is started. We have several different options to deliver bioidentical hormone therapy such as:

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient's path to hormone optimization. Most patients report some symptom resolution in as little as two to four weeks, but full optimization may take up to six months. Your journey will be customized to fit your specific needs. It takes more than one to two weeks for your hormones to get out of balance, so expect it to take time to resolve.
